Troubleshooting
The new AggieAccess card readers can be slow to react. Below are some best practices.
Physical key card
Hold your AggieAccess card to the reader until the light on the reader changes color. If the card reader flashes red (it also makes an audible clicking sound), it means you do not have access to the door you are attempting to open. Please contact your department's key custodian to report the issue. If the reader changes to blue, the door lock will click open.

Mobile Application
Ensure the bluetooth is activated on your mobile device. This is the #1 reason the mobile app doesn't work. If bluetooth is enabled, hold the device to the reader until the reader changes color. If the card reader flashes red (it also makes an audible clicking sound), it means you do not have access to the door you are attempting to open. Please contact your department's key custodian to report the issue.
New or Replacement Phone or Device?
You'll need to request a new mobile application invitation if you get a new phone (or mobile device). Each invitation issues a one-time digital certificate for the specific device you use. If you get a new device, you'll need to reinstall the app with a new invitation from the campus Police Department. Contact MrakAccess@ucdavis.edu if this applies to you.
